Description This is a manhole cover in a small fishing village located in Okinawa, Japan. Contrary to popular belief, the boat depicted is a trading ship, not a fishing vessel. It is a "Shinkosen," a trading ship that sailed between Okinawa and China during the Ryukyu Kingdom era circa 1372 AD. Exposure Date: 10/21/2001
